Global Health at NYPQ

The Global Health and Community Outreach Division is dedicated to fostering a culture of social justice and health equity within our emergency department. We provide residents and faculty with meaningful opportunities for community outreach, health education, advocacy, and international work. Through these experiences, we aim to share our emergency medicine expertise, collaborate with local partners, and deepen our understanding of health challenges in real-world settings.

Our mission is to:

• Enhance clinical skills by exposing trainees to diverse healthcare settings and patient populations.

• Promote cultural competency by fostering cross-cultural understanding and communication.

• Advocate for health equity by addressing social determinants of health and advocating for policies that improve access to quality care.

• Contribute to global health by collaborating with international partners to address global health challenges.
